饱受期待的2020年上海酷儿影展短片单元官方入围名单今日新鲜出炉，我们也再次感谢各位影人的热情参与！
经过激烈的讨论，我们已于近日完成所有投片的初审环节，选出共23部作品组成今年的短片单元，其中包括12部“亚洲短片竞赛”官方入围，以及11部“世界短片展映”官方入选。

Jay, a 13-year-old Taiwanese boy, is fascinated by his toned and athletic older brother. In order to get close to him, Jay feigns an interest in basketball so that his brother will practice with him. Steadily, Jay’s fascination develops into an attraction—one with which Jay is forced to reconcile after his brother brings home a girlfriend.

Erika was born as the first son to a family in Taipei. When working in Tokyo, she embarks on the journey of relieving the suppressed feminine self. After returning to Taipei, she continues to pursue her goal of getting surgery and registering gender change while tackling the conflicts with her family. Although the journey of fulfilling her dream is already tough, the path to reconciliation with her family is even more challenging.

This film is an exploration into my self-identity (as a closeted homosexual), body-autonomy, performance art and the relationship with my mother. I use my body to create my own manifesto, and as a language of art, and allow people to interpret my naked self – I will finally face my sexuality honestly. Through documenting our daily life, I attempt to break down the wall that stands between me and my mother for the past 20 years.

Contemporary Shanghai, summer. Xia Qing, a boy who has been wearing Cochlear Implants due to hearing impairment, has a deep love for dancing. He gains so much joy just from copying Martha Graham’s hand gestures in a dance magazine. A kid with a precocious nature, he sometimes paints his pinky nail red just for that glimpse of beauty. Yet all these passionate pursuits are misunderstood and questioned by his single, deaf mother.

Beatrice returns with her mind to her relationship with Sveva, to their intense and tormented connection that invades her present reality.
Through the re-enactment of her words, Beatrice will find herself reliving this relationship, as if looking in the mirror, sinking into the memories of past vitality and passion.

Dix Pix is a short animated documentary that looks at the gay male/trans/non-binary body and why it is common for people to send naked pictures via dating apps. The documentary takes an experimental approach in its visual style and tackles themes of masculinity, queerness, solitude and the body.
12部“亚洲短片竞赛”入围作品将通过5位评审评选出以下6大奖项：最佳影片、最佳导演、最佳摄影、最佳剧本、最佳演员以及评审团大奖。11部“世界短片展映”入选影片将作为官方入选在影展放映，不进入评奖及颁奖环节。
所有入围作品将会在9月影展期间放映，活动日期将于近期公布，请密切关注公众号。
There will be six awards presented by five jury members for the Asian Short Film Competition: Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Grand Jury Award. The eleven films for the World Short Film Screening will not be judged nor awarded, but instead will be screened as part of our official selection during the festival.
